New York Fashion Week Runway Trends s/s 2010 Womenswear

NEW YORK, the first of the big four fashion week’s finished this Thursday and what a show it was, offering up a fantastic preview of what to expect for the upcoming summer and happily highlighting a range of rock solid, commercial and wearable trends to take straight from runway to retail. Girl power has never been quite so stylish and desirable with many designers opting for maximum femininity, whether soft and traditional or strong and vampish, it’s clear that 2010 is all about celebrating the female form. Shoulder shapes from the 1940’s remain popular for sophisticated statement jackets and dresses while an abundance of clever jersey separates and relaxed silhouettes have sports chic appeal. Rich sunset shades give summer collections vibrant warmth while cloudy puffs of semi sheer chiffon and organza offer all out romance.

Don’t miss Mpdclick’s complete coverage of the s/s 10 womenswear season and stay tuned for our concise trend overviews.
